Description
Summary:"On the contemporary Chabad-Lubavitch calendar The Fifth Day of Teves was declared in the late 1980s as a new Yom Tov following the secular court ruling that the library, which had been rescued from Europe by the Lubavitcher Rebbe's father-in-law and predecessor as the spiritual leader of the movement, belonged to the Chabad-Lubavitch movement as a whole. One of the witnesses who testified in this case was Rabbi Dr. Louis Jacobs of London, England, who was serving as a visiting professor at Harvard Divinity School from 1985 to 1986. Shirkey Press is grateful to the friendship of Mr. Ivor Jacobs of London ... for his assistance in making available the contents of his father's courtroom testimony. One final point. The text that is reproduced in this volume is the court stenographer's transcription of the testimony. There are still some mistranscriptions that remain in the text." --
