Accounts of the voyages of Chistopher Columbus and women and natural history on the island of Martinique were also extracted, revised, and translated from parts 1 and 2 of Sumario de la generale historia de l'Inde occidentali, first printed Venice, 1534, themselves apparently translated from decades 1-3 of Pietro Martire d'Anghiera's De orbe novo, first printed Alcala de Hernares, 1530, and from Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo y Valdés' De la natural hystoria de las Indias, first printed Alcala de Hernares, 1530. The sections on Peru were extracted, revised and translated from the Venice, 1563 edition of Agustín de Zárate's Historia del descubrimiento y conquista del Peru, first printed Antwerp, 1555.
