In 2004, just before he died, Fresán contacted Turturro, wanting to recover the remains of his film. Turturro started with the old film reels, dug up unpublished materials, returned to the original scenes, and interviewed Sorín and other witnesses to illuminate the interwoven stories of Tounens and Fresán -- a piece of history stranger than fiction | ||
