He chose for him a young lady to marry but he refused. Farīd returened to the city and he became closer to Layla who was suffering from Tuberculosis. His father knew his relationship with Laylá. Farīd's father went to Laylá and asked her to leave his son for the sake of his future. She tried hard to leave him till they broke up. She started to be very sick and asked Farīd's father to see Farīd before she would die. Farīd went to see Laylá after he knew the truth from his father
