Steps within the process included: (1) establishing a design approach and air/water control theory; (2) verifying structural capacity of the existing façade anchorage and vertical structural members; (3) identifying and specifying products that met the design and performance requirements; (4) evaluating an innovative option for improved thermal performance; (5) testing the air/water barrier to verify performance; and (6) careful monitoring of work progress and installation quality. All of this was done with very close coordination with hospital management and staff to minimize service disruptions and occupant discomfort for this sensitive client population. The final result includes increased energy efficiency and acoustical performance of the façade system-while presenting a progressive new image to the public
